How a 47-Year-Old Lecturer From Glasgow Lost 9kg, Dropped 14cm Off His Waist, and Got His Son Into the Gym

Joe Quail is 47 years old, married with two kids aged 7 and 10, and works as a Further Education Lecturer in Glasgow.

Busy man. Decent career. Good family life.

But like a lot of guys I work with, there was a gap between how Joe saw himself and what he saw in the mirror.

He wanted to shift the weight, build some muscle, and feel like himself again.

So he joined Rebirth.

Which got him back on track over the 6 weeks, then he worked with me further in my inner circle.

Joe’s lost 9kg and dropped 14cm off his waist.

But honestly, those numbers aren’t even the most interesting part of his story.

What struck me most was this.

His son started coming to his circuit classes with him.

His wife changed her food choices because of what she was watching Joe do at home.

And his focus and stress levels at work improved noticeably.

That’s what getting in shape actually does when it’s done properly. It doesn’t just change the man. It changes the environment around him.

Joe didn’t follow a complicated meal plan or spend hours in the gym. He worked with the Progressive Wholefoods Formula – building better eating habits gradually, without cutting out entire food groups or white-knuckling his way through a restrictive diet.

His training ran on three sessions a week, 45 to 60 minutes each, built around functional strength that carries over into real life rather than a bodybuilding split that leaves you sore and segmented.

And every session started with the Rust Removal Protocol – ten minutes of joint mobility work that most busy dads in their 40s desperately need and almost never do.

The results speak for themselves.

9kg gone. 14cm off the waist. Muscle built. A son who now trains alongside him. A wife who’s changed how she eats. A sharper, calmer version of himself showing up to work every day.

Joe’s story isn’t unusual for the men who come through Rebirth.

What is unusual is the level of support behind it. Direct access to me through the coaching app, a WhatsApp community group, weekly live Zoom calls, private form video checks, and a Full Body Fitness MOT in week one and week six that tracks every meaningful marker of physical progress.

Not just the scales or the mirror.

The whole picture.

If Joe’s story sounds familiar – if there’s a gap between who you know you can be and what you’re currently living – the next Rebirth cohort is coming.
