The Dangers of Belly Fat 

Let's get real - The benefits of getting in shape don't stop with looking better...

Having a belly and excess body fat is a huge risk on your lifespan and life quality. Here's what I know from my research:  

Health Risk #1: Even a 10% increase above your ideal bodyweight causes a 6-7% increase in blood pressure (Phil Richards science of fat loss). 

Health Risk #2: Belly fat creates harmful inflammation that damages your heart, brain, and essential organs. This happens silently whilst we're unaware before it's too late. (New research from American Society Of Nutrition). 

Health Risk #3: It's predicted that 1 in every 2 overweight men will develop some form of deadly cancer in their lifetime (The British Journal of Cancer). 

Health Risk #4: Men carrying 60 extra pounds or more are 3000% more likely to develop diabetes. Even being moderately overweight increases your diabetes risk 100% (Westlund K, Nicholayse R. Scand J Lab Clin Invest 1972;127 (s): 1-22). 

Health Risk #5: Not exercising and excess belly fat shrinks your brain and supports development of Alzheimer's disease (Boston University School of Medicine). 

Health Risk #6: A 20 year study involving 1 million Americans showed that men who were 40% overweight had higher rates of prostate, colon, and rectal cancer (American cancer society, Cancer prevention study 1959-79. New York, NY: American Cancer Society, 1980).

There's Good News...

All these risks can drastically reduce - even quickly - with small, healthier changes in the right direction.

❌ Mistake #1: All or Nothing

Cardio IS good for you. 

But if you want to look like the fit dad at the beach, or in your t-shirts, whilst living a long healthy life, then focus on building strength and muscle also. 

❌ Mistake #4: No Program 

Any exercise is great for you. 

But the difference between looking like a man who looks after himself and someone who’s just taken up jogging, is a well designed program.
